David Christian "Chris" Goodall is a native of Columbia. He earned his Bachelor's degree (BA) from Wofford College in 1979 and a Juris Doctorate (JD) from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 1982.
Following law school, Goodall was in private law practice in Columbia, becoming a partner in the firm of Adams, Quackenbush, Herring and Stuart. He joined his family's business, Continental American Insurance Company, in 1995, and served as its Chairman and CEO at the time of the firm's acquisition by insurance giant AFLAC, in 2010. Today, Goodall holds the post of CEO at the AFLAC Group in Columbia.
Goodall has been instrumental in the work that Pawmetto Lifeline does daily by being a major supporter of the HEART Rescue Collaboration program at Pawmetto Lifeline and helping to ensure that as many at-risk animals are being removed from the municipal shelter and placed in rescues as possible. His support helps Pawmetto Lifeline to literally save lives.
Goodall is also a member of the Wofford College Board of Trustees and serves on the board of the Sisters of Charity Providence Hospitals. He has also previously served as a member of the board for the Souper Bowl of Caring Ministry based in Columbia. He is married to Linell Goodall, and they are the parents of three daughters. He and his entire family have a real love for animals.
