Animal Care Needs

Do you LOVE cats? Our cats look forward to their visitors. Plenty of toys and laser pointers are available to help you stimulate and entertain our felines. We just need you!
Requirements: Volunteering opportunities available seven (7) days a week, 0830 - ??.
Do you LOVE dogs? Do you want ALL the dogs, but you aren't in the right position to adopt? Pawmetto Lifeline dogs are always looking for a new friend to come play with them and take them for walks. Pawmetto Lifeline has dogs of all sizes to interact with and volunteers can find the fur-friend that matches their activity level to volunteer with.
Requirements: Must understand basic handling of dogs. Must be able to maintain firm hold on leash while walking dog. Volunteering opportunities available seven (7) days a week, 0830 - ??.
Do you have a strong arm, love for walking, and want to help teach dogs manners? Ask about becoming a 'Power Walker' for our rambunctious, active residents.
Do you enjoy cats but can't make it to Pawmetto Lifeline to volunteer? Volunteer attendants are needed to clean and socialize our cats at the three different Petsmart locations. Locations are at Two Notch, Lexington & Harbison PetSmart Cat Adoption Centers.
Requirements: Specialized training for this position after volunteer orientation is required. Pawmetto Lifeline would like for you to commit to the same time/day every week to attend to the cats.
The Pawmetto Lifeline Spay and Neuter Clinic completes approximately 200 surgeries per week. This means we need volunteers to assist with surgical laundry, preparation of surgical packs, transfer of animals, and animal care pre- and post- surgery.
Requirements: Must complete training within Spay and Neuter Clinic after completion of volunteer orientation. Must be able to dedicate a weekly three (3) hour shift to the spay and neuter clinic. Volunteers are primarily needed on the shifts 1000- 1300 and 1300 - 1600.

Do you want to volunteer but cannot help directly with the animals? Pawmetto Lifeline loves clerical volunteers! There is always data input, photocopying, and filing needing to be completed.
Requirements: Basic understanding of computers and data input.
Transportation Roles

Do you enjoy driving and animals? Pawmetto Lifeline has just the volunteer position for you! Pawmetto Lifeline is often required to pick-up animals and bring our current residents to appointments or affiliated rescues.
Requirements: A valid South Carolina (SC) license and desire to help.
Do you enjoy getting your hands dirty and love a good arm workout? Pawmetto Lifeline vans get furry and messy after transporting our fur-friends constantly. We need volunteers to clean
Requirements: Must be able to bend, operate vehicle cleaning equipment, and enjoys hard-work.

Are you a "people person"? Do you want to help Pawmetto Lifeline, but can't find time to volunteer? We are always in need of fundraisers! You can create your own fundraiser such as a yard sale, bake sale to generate funds for our general operations. We also have events such as Fur Ball & Bark to the Park where you can donate your time.
Requirements: A smile and generosity.
Do you have the desire to help pet owners and pets of the Midlands? On the first Friday of every month, Pawmetto Lifeline distributes pet food to residents in need. Pawmetto Lifeline needs volunteers to help set up, distribute pet food, and assist with clean-up. To read more about Pet Soup click here.
Requirements: Must be available on first Friday of month. Must be able to lift fifteen (15) pounds. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time (approximately four hours).
