Program Spotlight: Wellness Clinic

Learn more about Pawmetto Lifeline’s Wellness Clinic in this week’s program spotlight.

What is the Wellness Clinic?

The Wellness Clinic is a low-cost, full service veterinarian clinic

What is AAHA Accreditation? Why is it important?

Pawmetto Lifeline’s Wellness Clinic became accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) in November 2018 after a voluntary evaluation of more than 900 standards in every aspect of patient care. AAHA is the gold standard of veterinary excellence and we are 1 of 3 accredited non-profit clinics accredited in the southeast.

As an AAHA-accredited clinic, we are committed to providing the highest quality of care for your pets!

Can anyone use the Wellness Clinic for Veterinary services?

Yes! The Wellness Clinic is open to anyone with a cat or dog.

What services do you offer for my pet?

Dental cleanings, yearly exams, sick visits, bloodwork, vaccines, heartworm treatment, and more!

If I have an emergency with my pet, can I come to you for services?

Unfortunately, we are not equipped as an emergency facility. We highly recommend Columbia Veterinary Emergency Trauma Services (CVETS) or Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center (VSEC) for emergency services.

How can I make an appointment? What do I need to bring to my appointment?

Call 803-465-9196 or email wellness@pawmettolifeline.org to set up your visit. We ask that you arrive 5 minutes prior to your appointment time to complete check-in paperwork and that you bring all of your pet’s prior medical records.

Do you take CareCredit?

Yes! We also accept Scratch Pay.

What does a typical appointment look like for a patient?

When you arrive our receptionist will greet you and get you started with check-in paperwork. When it is time for your pet to be seen a technician will come out and review your pet’s history and requested services for the visit. Once complete the technician takes the pet to the exam room while you wait in the lobby area. We do this for 2 reasons. 1. Pet’s tend to pick up on their family’s emotions, sometimes becoming very stressed which can cause them to act out during the appointment when they would not have otherwise.

We are also a high volume, low cost, full-service Wellness Clinic. In order to ensure appointments move quickly and make sure each client has time to be seen and speak with the vet we ask that you wait in the lobby so that the vet can focus solely on your pet’s exam and medical needs. The vet then comes out after the exam to answer any questions, concerns, and review their findings during your pet’s visit. The final step is to visit the receptionist to check out where you are provided a copy of your pet’s medical records along with any medications. Don’t hesitate to ask questions at any time! We are happy to help.
